VITÓRIA REGIA

Vitória Regia is the flower that represents Brazil, an aquatic plant and its peculiarity is that it only opens at night. I was captivated by its legend, which told that there was an Indian named Naiá, who was in love with the Moon, who was considered a god by the Tupi-Guaran. Every night Naiá went out with the hope that the moon, as the legend told, would take her away to transform her into a star, she climbed mountains so that the moon would take her away, but it did not happen, one night, Naiá saw the reflection of the moon in a river, into which he fell to reach her and drowned. The moon, knowing about Naiá’s story, turned her into a river star, which could only open its petals under the moonlight.

The Vitoria Regía collection recreates the immensity of a country, its contrasts, its legends, the melting pot of cultures, colour, and above all, friendship. All this inspires this collection that, like everything in Brazil, is exuberant and overflows with imagination.

I chose tourmalines, green onyx, seawater, topaz to create vibrant pieces.
